On July 3rd, 1985 one of the greatest '80s movies EVER was released in theaters. Let's review... Back to the Future, a Sci-Fi Adventure film, is about a teenager named Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) who is accidentally sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his friend, Dr. Emmett Brown (played by Christopher Lloyd). Marty must make sure his high-school-age parents unite in order to save his own existence and get back to the future. Back to the Future became the most successful film of 1985, grossing over $383 million worldwide and receiving critical acclaim.
The comedy film "Coming To America", starring Eddie Murphy, is about an African prince named Akeem Joffer who leaves his wealth behind and comes to the United States in hopes of finding a woman he can marry, but most of all love. Released on June 29th, 1988 and directed by John Landis - "Coming To America" was a commercial box-office success, both domestically and worldwide grossing over $128,152,301.
It's been almost 30 years since Ghostbusters was released in theaters [June 8, 1984] and grossed an astounding $23 million in its first week, a studio record at the time. The classic film was number one at the box office for five consecutive weeks, grossing $99.8 million. The film stars comic heavy-weights like Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.
